Claude Kameni is having a big year. Though she’s been staying at home, her evening wear designs have been spending time in high places — including the virtual BET Awards (as Amanda Seales’ hosting ensemble)
The Cameroonian designer announced that her brand LaviebyCK will be diversifying into swimwear, just in time for summer 2020 vacations. The LA-based cult-brand has gained a lot of attention from IT girls including Tracee Ellis Ross, Jackie Aina, Nomzamo Mbatha and more because of its elaborate, Afrocentric designs.
Still, the designer knew that, for those who weren’t dressing up for momentous occasions this year, there had to be a way to make her punchy, printed aesthetic available for everyday wear. Thus, Lavie By CK’s first swim line was born, and it’s here to bring far-flung destinations home, to you.
As expected, the first pieces from the new range follow LaviebyCK’s bold and vibrant aesthetic. The Le Voyage collection includes colourful one-piece swimsuits with flattering cut-out details made with Ankara fabrics.
